            Bronzo dorato Barbedienne. cm 5,5x18,5. Firma incisa nel piatto. Ferdinand Levillain ha studiato con lo scultore Jouffroy (1806-1882), prima di esordire nel 1861 al Salon, dove ha continuato a esporre fino al 1903. All'esposizione universale del 1867 a Parigi, è stato elogiato per un coppa in bronzo in stile neo-greco che ha realizzato per la ditta Blot & Drouard. Tuttavia, non sarebbe diventato famoso fino al 1871, grazie alla sua associazione con il grande fonditore di bronzo Ferdinand Barbedienne, che iniziò a esporre lampade in stile neo-greco, tazze, vasi e candelabri sui suoi scaffali.
