Czech painter, illustrator and graphic artist, he studied under professor Marak at the Prague Academy of Arts, he was a follower of the Neoimpressionist stream in Czech landscape painting. He was influenced by J. Uprka, F. Kavan and A. Hudecek. In the early 1920s he produced paintings of forests in line with the contemporary demand for this genre.
