Date: 1858 Description: Beautifully illustrated poem based on Justinus Kerner's (1786 Ludwigsburg - 1862 Weinsberg) poem "Graf Asper". The eight stanzas of the fairy-tale poem are written in elaborate calligraphy in the centre and are framed by two illustrations on the sides. On the left, the young Count Asper can be seen returning from a military journey and standing at a well in the forest. With the well's bucket he pulls up a dwarf who entices him to climb into the bucket and descend. On the right, the cloister maiden is shown standing at the same well and pulling up the bucket. Monaco di Baviera, 1843 - Schleissheim, 1897 Donna nel parco Firmato H Lossow in basso a destra Olio su tela, cm 60X50 Heinrich Lossow, artista molto apprezzato dalla critica, era figlio dello scultore Arnold e fratello del pittore animalista Friedrich. Come quest'ultimo, studiò all'Accademia di Monaco nello studio di Piloty e si formò nel suo percorso artistico compiendo svariati viaggi in Europa. Pittore di genere, egli attinse la propria ispirazione prevalentemente dallo stile rococò. Nella bella tela il soggetto principale é l'elegante figura femminile vestita con abiti settecenteschi, adagiata morbidamente su una panchina in pietra all'interno di un parco- l'atmosfera appare cupa, la donna rappresentata é colta in un momento di sconforto: le mani affusolate coprono il volto diafano e un drappo rosso ravviva la tela giocata sui toni dei bruni e dei grigi perlacei. .

Sehr seltenes Mappenwerk des Fin de siècle, unter seinem Pseudonym Gaston Ferran von Heinrich Lossow (1843-1897) in Kupfer radiert. Die Abzüge in schwarz auf Bütten erzählen die Geschichte einer üppigen, reifen Dame, "die - wohl durch ihre Lektüre animiert - ihren Kammerdiener ruft und nach allen Regeln der Kunst vernascht" (G. Karge). Jede Radierung ist in der Platte signiert mit "Ferran / Paris". - Der leicht gelbliche Karton der Tafeln kaum fleckig, insgesamt sehr wohlerhaltenes, schönes Exemplar.
