    Giuliano Pedretti, Galoppierendes Pferd, Bronzeplastik von 1971 Giuliano Pedretti, 1924 Basel - 2012 Samedan, wächst in Samedan auf, 1942-43 Besuch der Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich, 1943 erster Besuch in Maloja bei Alberto Giacometti, den er ab 1953 wiederholt in Paris aufsucht, 1949 ist er Stipendiat des neu gegründeten Schweizerischen Instituts in Rom, 1951 zerstört eine Lawine das Elternhaus in Samedan, Pedrettis Jugendwerk geht fast völlig verloren, er selbst wird bewusstlos geborgen, 1952 Bezug eines neuen Ateliers in Celerina, wo er bis zu seinem Tode lebt und arbeitet; sein plastisches Werk umfasst mehr als 300 Arbeiten, hier: Gestreckt galoppierendes Pferd, aus der Phase: "Dreidimensionalität" (1940-1980) - in klassischer Manier gearbeitete dreidimensionale Darstellungen. Seit den 1950er Jahren starker Einfluss von Auguste Rodin und Medardo Rosso, modelliert das Licht anstelle des Gegenstandes und entwickelt eine impressionistische Darstellungsweise (nach: Sikart, Lexikon zur Kunst in der Schweiz); Bronzeplastik m. goldener Patina, sign., dat., bez. 124, num. 1/3, Gießereistempel, L 55 H 37,5 cm

Exemplar 4/7. Höhe 72 cm. 'Eine wichtige Rolle in Pedrettis Schaffen spielt die Asymmetrie. Der beleuchtete Teil der Figur ist mit stark expressiven Formen dargestellt, die Schattenseite ist als eigentlich unplastische Form und Fläche gebildet.
