HxW approx. 50 x 68 cm (HxW frame approx. 69.5 x 88.5 cm). VERSO illegibly titled and inscribed by hand on old exhibition label of the Preußischer Kunstverein. Traces of age and rubbing, craquelure, slight foxing, yellowing, restored and retouched. With frame (traces of age).

It depicts a landscape bathed in the warm light of sunset. On the right side is a path in the rocky landscape with a hiker's couple. In the background emerges a wide mountain and lake landscape. In the background emerges a wide landscape. The realistic nature depiction with small, fine brushstrokes, as well as the broad sky area, conveyed in the subtle nuances of colour, reveal the virtuosity of this landscape painter from Berlin. The painting is signed lower left. The work is in good condition with minimal traces of wear and age. Retouches of paint are visible on the left margin. Fine craquelure covers the colour surface. The gold frame displays traces of wear. The total dimensions are framed 53.7 x 72 cm and the stretcher frame is 44.5 x 63 cm in size. Otto Press (active 1866-1888) The landscape painter from Berlin, Otto Press, exhibited 1866 and 1888 at the Berlin Academy. His favoured motif are mountain landscapes with couple figure staffage.
