      Alexandre Eugene Prignot (French, b. 1822), Architectural interior drawing created in preparation for engravings for his book "L'Architecture la Decoration et L'Ameublement published in Paris in 1878. Finely drawn and rendered interior with Neoclassical ornament and accurate proportions depicting paneled doors, fluted piers, console tables urns, sculptural busts, ewers, shields and weaponry, molding and decorative mirrors. Framed 15.75" x 22.75".       Prignot for the engravings in his book: L’Architecture, la Decoration et L’Ameublement. Soixante compositions et dessins inedits par Eugene Prignot, Paris, 1878, pencil on paper, each sight 16-1/2" x 9-1/2", each monogrammed and one dated 1873. Framed en suite. Reference: Bénézit. Prignot received a ‘medaille d’or at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1867, and a ‘medaille de progres’ at Vienna in 1873 for his furniture. The book was dedicated to Sir Richard Wallace, Bt. (1819-1890), heir to the collection of the 4th Marquess of Hertford, his father. Two drawings from this series are in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, New York.
