Il était renommé comme portraitiste et comme illustrateur des œuvres littéraires des écrivains de Nuremberg, en particulier Sigmund von Birken dont un poème est reproduit sur la gravure.         Antique engraving after Vincenzo Giustiniani's "Galleria Giustiniana del Marchese Vincenzo Giustiniani", which was first published in circa 1630. It was published under supervision of Joachim von Sandrart, in the form of a compilation of engravings of the family's gallery of statues. This engraving is framed in a modern beautiful sleek black wood and glass frame. Sandrart was a German engraver who traveled to Rome to work for Vincenzo Giustiniani. Sandrart employed several Dutch and French artists to complete Galleria including Theodor Matham, Michael Natalis, Renier Persin, Cornelis Bloemaert, Claude Mellan, and Francois Perrier. Dimensions: 22 1/8 inches high, 16.50 inches wide / long and 5/8 inches deep. and initials, the front panels decorated with a scene of a gentleman looking out over a harbor above an applied relief mask. A similar mask adorns the cover just beneath the plume finials, the base having a Greek key trim at the bottom. Dimensions: 14 1/4 inches high, 5 1/2 inches wide and 4 3/8 inches deep.
