Rare re-issue of the enlarged 1710 Amst. edition of "Hippolytus redivivus", first printed in Latin in 1644, somewhere in the Netherlands. Engr. ill.: title, 8 full-page pls & 9 pls in text. In this work, the anonymous author makes a vehement attack on every aspect of the female character, his only justification being that he follows the words of Euripides' tragedy Hippolytus (or "Phaedra" in later adaptations by Seneca, Racine and Vondel).
