TRUMAN, HARRY Typed letter signed as President referencing the Pecos River Compact. Washington: 9 June 1949. A one page typed letter on White House stationery signed in ink "Harry Truman." Visible area. 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Framed with a portrait. Folds, with "received" stamp over date, otherwise fine, not examined out of frame.

A short letter from President Truman to the Governer of Texas, Hon. Beaufort H. Jester, congratulating him and the Governor of New Mexico on "this extremely worthwhile and happy conclusion of extensive negotiations" known as the Pecos River Compact which settled a longstanding dispute over water rights.
