Simon Philippe Thomassin (French, 1638-1722), collection of six copperplate engravings (no. 173-179) of the sculptures in the gardens of the palace of Versailles, France, sight 6 in. x 4 in., framed alike Note: Commissioned by Louis XIV, Thomassin's collection of engravings were published as a guidebook of the Palace gardens in 1694 under the title Recueil des figures, groupes, thèmes, fontaines, vases et autres ornemens tels qu'ils se voyent á present dans le Château et parc de Versailles.
