        Miniature Oval Bust Portrait of a Middle Aged Wealthy Merchant, initialed "SC", and dated 1766, he is depicted in a blue coat with black collar, in a short cropped powdered grey wig, a slight smile on his features as he looks at the viewer, fitted out as a locket, with beveled glass lenses on both sides, the back covering buff moire silk, in a later leather keepsake case, 1 3/8" x 1", excluding the hanging loop. Very good condition.
