            Gemäldepaar FRANZ I VON LOTHRINGEN (1708-1765) sowie MARIA THERESIA VON ÖSTERREICH (1717-1780) Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. Je 91 x 74 cm. Je in durchbrochenem vergoldetem Holzrahmen mit Bekrönung. Im Halbfigurenportrait Franz I von Lothringen nach rechts vor dunklem Hintergrund in einem wertvollen blauen Gewand mit überreichen Goldstickereien, einem weißen Spitzenkragen sowie Spitze an den Hemdsärmeln, dazu ein schwarzer Hut mit dunkelblauen Federn und eine Edelsteinbrosche. Seine linke Hand hat er auf einen goldenen Stab gelegt. Am rechten Bildrand ist ein rotes Samtkissen mit Krone erkennbar. Er trägt eine graue Allongeperücke, hat ein leichtes Doppelkinn, gerötete Wangen und mit seinen dunklen Augen schaut er aus dem Bild heraus. Die Kaiserin Maria Theresia wird im Halbbildnis nach links gezeigt in einem prachtvollen Kleid mit Goldstickerei und reicher Spitze im Bereich des Dekolleté, an den Ärmeln und als gesonderter Kragen um den Hals. Sie trägt zudem einen goldenen Mantel, der innen rot gefüttert ist. Auf der grauen Perücke ein Diadem, dazu wertvolle Ohrringe und eine Brosche im Brustbereich. Auf der unteren linken Seite ein rotes Samtkissen, darauf die goldene Krone und ein goldenes Zepter. Sie hat ein zartes helles Gesicht und mit ihren leuchtenden Augen schaut sie aus dem Bild auf den Betrachter heraus. Wenige Retuschen.             Louis XVI-Kommode 91 x 128 x 59 cm. Paris, um 1775. Das Möbel wird begleitet von einem „Certificat d’exportation pour un bien culturel“, ausgestellt von Jean-Paul Mercier-Baudrier, 4. September 2007. Palisander auf Eiche, Intarsien in Amaranth, Palisander, Hainbuche und Seidenholz, mit Schattierungen in Buchsbaum und Ebenholz; ziselierte und vergoldete Bronze. In bronzenen Würfelsabots übers Eck gestellte, kantige, leicht konisch auslaufende Beine mit Akanthusblattbeschlag. Rechteckiger Korpus mit zentralem zweischübgem Vorbau mit flankierenden Schwingtüren. Die Schübe unterfangen von kugelflankiertem Lambrequin und übergreifendem Ormolu-Profil mit jeweils zwei Zugringen und Schlüsselschild in Ormolu. Türen ebenfalls mit Ormolu-Profil und wie die Schübe mit ornamentalen symmetrischen, teils dreidimensional aufgefassten Intarsien. Zarge mit drei Schüben und dichtem Laufendem Hund-Dekor. Den Zügen des Möbels folgende, weiß-grau geäderte Marmordeckplatte mit leichter Stufung. Anmerkung: Eine quasi identische Kommode, welche sich erst in der Sammlung Rikoff (siehe Abb.) und dann in der Sammlung Alfred Sussmann befand, wurde 1922 versteigert: Auktion, Galerie Georges Petit, Mes F. Lair-Dubreuil et Baudoin, 18.-19. Mai 1922, Lot 144. Eine weitere quasi identische Kommode befand sich in der Sammlung Polès und wurde am 22.-24. Decorated with a large hand cut crown decoration, the Decalogue, several semi-precious stones, swag chasing, two flower pots, lions, Solomonic pillars, a portion plaque and a chased border. Additionally decorated with three hanging plaques. This shield was presented to Gustave Tuck in 1934 by the Jewish Historical Society of England. At that time the added plaques were engraved ?Remember the days of old?, ?Given in honor of Gustave Tuck HaCohen? and ?Presented to Gustave Tuck Esq., president of the Jewish Historical Society of England 1929-1934?. Gustave Tuck (1857-1942) owned a printing press that specialized in art books. He was treasurer and subsequently president of the Jewish Historical Society of England. He was an avid collector of Judaica and purchased much of his collection from the sale of Arthur Howitt?s collection at the Christies? sale in May of 1932. 14.375? x 12.25? not including chains.
