Versierte, gegenseitige Wiederholung nach Rembrandts Radierung von 1643. Noch vor der Nummer obern rechts. Ganz ausgezeichneter, kräftiger Druck mit feinem Rändchen um die Plattenkante. Minimal fleckig, einzelne Knitter- und Gebrauchsspuren, sonst jedoch sehr gut erhalten. Beigegeben von Karel Dujardin "Die drei schlafenden Schweine" (Hollstein 8).         Francesco Novelli. Due lottatori nudi.Fine XVIII – Inizio XIX secolo Disegno in pastello rosso su cartoncino ottagonale. 192x130 mm. Riquadrato a penna e incollato su foglio di supporto. Sotto il disegno, a penna nera, la firma “F Novelli”. Ottimo stato di conservazione. Plastica ed efficace rappresentazione, forse lo studio preparatorio per un affresco o per un’incisione, che sembra richiamarsi alla maniera degli antichi maestri. Francesco Novelli, 1764-1836, fu poeta, pittore, incisore e disegnatore di non poca abilità. Figlio del pittore e incisore veneziano Pier Antonio Novelli, si esercitò moltissimo nel ricopiar l’arte degli antichi maestri quali il Mantegna o il Guercino. Di lui il padre diceva che disegnasse contraffazioni fatte così bene che sarebbero state prese per autentiche. Ebbe molto successo come incisore e incise opere del Rembrandt, per il Remondini e altri illustri autori ed editori. Novelli s’impegnò nella riproduzione delle acqueforti di Rembrandt, già facenti parte della collezione di Anton Maria Zanetti il vecchio, esaltando così l’opera dell’artista geniale, libero da ogni modulo o soggetto prefissato.

        Francesco Novelli. Diana con arco, faretra, cane e due putti. Fine XVIII secolo Disegno a penna firmato, inchiostro nero e bruno. 133x200 mm. Firma con inchiostro seppia in basso a destra. Incollato e riquadrato a penna e acquarello su foglio di supporto: “F Novelli”. Ottimo stato di conservazione. Suggestiva ed elegante raffigurazione, forse uno studio preparatorio per un’incisione. Il cane è pressoché identico a quello presente nella stampa ‘La freccia di Cupido’ del 1792. Questa notevole incisione è stata proposta nel 2011, con il titolo ‘La flechas de Cupido’, dalla Casa d’Aste Ansorena di Madrid (10/11/2011, Pinturas, N° lotto 249). Francesco Novelli, 1764-1836, fu poeta, pittore, incisore e disegnatore di non poca abilità.
