Eines seiner Hauptwerke, der "Conspectus regni vegetabilis" (1828), stellte ein eigenes, auf philosophischen Grundlagen beruhendes Pflanzensystem auf, das seinerzeit viel Beachtung fand; das vorliegende Werk stellt eine Überarbeitung und Ergänzung dazu dar. - Wenig stockfleckig, Titel stärker betroffen.
