WINTERLANDSCHAFT MIT SCHLITTENFAHRERN Öl auf Holz, Tondo. Durchmesser: 18 cm. Verso auf altem Etikett bezeichnet als „N. Molenaer“. In oktagonalem Rahmen. Beigegeben eine Expertise von Didier Bodart, in Kopie. Unter grauem Himmel eine winterliche Landschaft mit fast kahlen Bäumen und einem großen Gehöft sowie einem davorstehenden hohen Taubenschlag. Rechtsseitig ein zugefrorener Fluss mit einigen Schlittschuhläufern sowie im Vordergrund ein von einem Schimmel gezogener Schlitten, in dem vier Figuren in warme Kleidung gehüllt sitzen. Malerei in zurückhaltender, überwiegend beige-brauner Farbigkeit, aufgelockert durch einige rötliche Kleidungsstücke und das weiße Pferd. Van de Velde (1587-1630) was a Dutch landscape artist born in Amsterdam. He worked in Haarlem during the 1610s and later died in The Hague in 1630, where he had been Court Painter to the Princes Maurits and Frederick Henry. His fluidly-drawn landscape etchings of the Dutch landscape in and around Haarlem and Amsterdam were a direct influence on Rembrandt. Hollstein 18.
